For convenience’s sake, I am now using Windows Live Writer. True to form, I had some reservations, mostly concerning custom field values and image handling. Luckily, I was able to find a plugin that would let me assign custom field values within WLW. As for images, now is the moment of truth.
As expected, WLW outputs a different markup when it embeds an image into a blog post. To make everything uniform with my WordPress installation, I would have to hard code the image tag every time I feature an image or a photo. So much for full service, WLW. Still, having just one window open instead of multiple browser tabs is a plus in my book.
